Upper Grand District School Board schools raised $118,655 during the 2010 Terry Fox Run.

Leading the way for secondary school category was Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute, which brought in $11,959. John McCrae Public School was first in the elementary with $5,944.

As of the middle of April, 41 Upper Grand schools have already registered for the 2011 National School Run Day which will be held on Sept. 28.

The board  has supported the run for the past three decades. Last year 3,796 schools across Canada participated in fund raising events providing thousands of students with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

The Terry Fox Foundation is a volunteer driven organization that directs 87 cents out of every dollar raised directly to the cause. For more information the foundation’s website is www.terryfox.org.
