The Ministry of Education has designated May 4 to 8 as Education Week, a time to “celebrate accomplishments and reflect on new and exciting challenges ahead.”
In the Upper Grand District School Board, the week has been extended from mid-April to mid-May to allow schools to plan events and activities to encourage participation.
This year’s theme is “Open doors, unlock potential.”
Education Week in the UGDSB will officially open on May 4 at 7pm at École Harris Mill Public School in Rockwood, in conjunction with the official opening of the new school. The public is invited to attend.
A list of other events is posted at www.ugdsb.on.ca.
The board encourages everyone to take a few minutes and visit a neighbourhood school to observe the accomplishments of students and staff. Check the website or contact a local school for more details.
