School takes part in roadside cleanup

On May 10, 36 students from the Maranatha Christian School in Fergus, along with principal Richard Hoeksema and teacher volunteers, gave up their Saturday morning to assist the Fergus Lions Club in cleaning up Highway 6 south, as part of the semiannual roadside cleanup.

Students collected a large quantity of garbage in near record time – making the southern approaches to the town a lot more appealing, school officials state.

Carillion Canada provided safety signs and garbage bags, and later picked up the trash collected for disposal.
