NEUSTADT - Saugeen Connects, a partnership between Saugeen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and seven municipalities: Arran-Elderslie, Brockton, Hanover, Minto, Wellington North, West Grey, and South Bruce, are inspiring women and embracing equity by offering a free lunch-time webinar series. The series is called Advancing Women Economically (AWE).

This collaborative group will be running the third annual AWE webinar series, assisting rural women with entrepreneurial skills and business leadership training through nine virtual workshops running March 13 through a May 15 networking wrap-up luncheon.

Topics include how to be visible and creative in a rural community, branding and marketing, self-care, applying for grants, finances and more.

The AWE program has helped over 40 women gain the necessary skills to build and sustain a successful business, develop more confidence and be provided with support to overcome a good portion of the barriers they face. After completing the series, grants are extended to participants to reinvest in their businesses and to help overcome barriers.
