Road rage incident in Guelph leads to assault charge

GUELPH – A Guelph man faces an assault charge after a motorist was assaulted during a road rage incident here on Nov. 4.

Just after 4pm police were informed of an incident in the parking lot of a store on Woodlawn Road West. 

“An adult male was pulled from his vehicle and repeatedly punched in the face and head by a man not known to him,” police stated in a Nov. 6 press release. 

“The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.”

The suspect was identified by witnesses and turned himself in to police. A 27-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault and is to appear in court on Dec. 15.
