GUELPH – A man was arrested at gunpoint after reports last Friday night of someone pointing a firearm at homes.

Guelph Police officials say that just after 10pm on May 1, officers were called to the area of Woolwich Street and Marilyn Drive after a witness reported a man pointing a black handgun at homes in the area.

“Several officers responded and the man was located outside and arrested at gunpoint. A replica firearm was recovered,” police stated.

A 31-year-old Guelph man was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is to appear in court on July 25.
