Minto firefighters responded to a fire at a downtown business on March 19.
The fire broke out Wednesday morning at Wylie’s Insurance Brokers on Elora Street.
“The occupants in the building called the fire in after detecting it. Their fast response really helped us contain the fire quickly and minimize the damage,” said Minto Fire Chief Chris Harrow.
Harrow said no one was injured in the fire, which was accidental and electrical in nature.
The chief estimates the building sustained about $7,500 damage, with some minor smoke damage occurring at neighbouring businesses.
“The firefighters had the fire under control quickly. Some roof work and removal of some exterior cladding was completed to check for any extension of the fire,” Harrow noted.
