It was a familiar face as Puslinch welcomed its new fire chief, Steven Goode.
The township announced Goode accepted the position effective March 1.
Goode’s firefighting resume includes 20 years of experience.
He began his career in 1994, most recently serving as deputy fire chief for the township.
Township officials say Goode is “respected for his operational management skills and dedication to fire and emergency services” in the community.
“We look forward to working with Chief Goode in his new role. His experience will be a real asset for our community,” said Mayor Dennis Lever.
“Steven’s extensive background and skills will serve the township well as we embark on the development of a Fire Master Plan.”
CAO Karen Landry said, “Steven is not only an asset to the Puslinch Fire and Rescue Service team, but also to the Puslinch community and I am looking forward to working with Steve as we develop and implement the [master plan].”
Goode is replacing retiring Chief Robert Gordon.
