Puslinch Lake to host Water Ski Canada 2018 national championships Aug. 8-12

Water Ski Canada has announced the 2018 Water Ski National Championships will be held at McClintock’s Ski School at Puslinch Lake.

The event will take place from Aug. 8 to 12.

“Our athletes always look forward to being a part of nationals and we are all excited to be a part of the competition, but also to be a part of the gathering of our community – it really is a special time,”  said Water Ski National team head coach Steve Bush.

The 2018 Water Ski Nationals will include up to 150 skiers from across the country competing in slalom, trick and jump disciplines, along with age categories that range from eight to 70 years old.

The Water Ski Nationals will include members of Canada’s national team as well as collegiate and professional skiers in the elite category.

At the March 7 Puslinch Township meeting, councillor Ken Roth noted the group previously wanted to locate the event in a different area of the township.

“It is going to be held at Puslinch Lake … they are definitely going to go ahead,” said Roth.
