Dave Thompson will work his last day this week as Puslinch Township’s chief building official (CBO) and bylaw enforcement officer.
Thompson, who made the announcement at council’s last meeting in April, will be moving on to become a full-time firefighter in Guelph.
When asked, he said he is unsure if he will also continue as a volunteer firefighter in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Councillor Susan Fielding thanked Thompson for his dedication to the township, adding he leaves “big shoes to fill.”
Mayor Dennis Lever and the rest of council also lauded Thompson for his efforts over the years – by which they were impressed – and wished him well in his future endeavours.
