Purse stolen from vehicle

PUSLINCH – On June 15 at about 9:15pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a theft from a vehicle that was parked at a trail on Watson Road.

Police say that sometime between 8 and 9pm, while the complainant was walking her dog on a trail, suspect(s) “smashed the victim’s pickup truck window and stole her purse which contained her identification, cash and credit cards,” police stated.

Police are reminding motorists to conceal their property when it’s left in an unattended vehicle – or better yet leave it at home.

“Consider carrying a small wallet that contains your driver’s licence, cash/bank card and keeping it with you on the trail,” police stated.

“Theft is a crime of opportunity that can be prevented. A broken window and stolen cash is an expense and an inconvenience, but stolen identification can lead to identity theft which is far more complicated and impactful.”
