GUELPH – As the federal government strives to find a solution to affordable housing across the country, the newly formed federal organization, Build Canada Homes, is seeking input from Canadians.
“The housing crisis is an important, persistent and challenging issue in Guelph, Wellington County and across Canada,” states a press release from the office of Guelph MP Dominique O’Rourke.
“That’s why the Government of Canada is using every tool at its disposal to take strong action.”
Build Canada Homes, a new federal organization, will be key to the government’s response to housing challenges across the country, the release states.
It will build affordable homes, support builders with financing, and encourage better building methods.
“Guelph knows the value of working collaboratively and we’ve already made progress with supportive and affordable housing projects funded in part by the federal government,” O’Rourke states in the release.
The government is inviting organizations, co-ops, builders and interested parties to share their insights on Build Canada Homes’ design at bchengagement-mobilisationmc@infc.gc.ca.
The deadline for comments is Aug 29.
