Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) is adding three new drop-in flu shot clinics to encourage more people to get the flu shot.

The drop-in clinics are as follows:

Jan. 15 from 10am to 12pm at the health unit office in Fergus;

Jan. 18 from 1 to 3:30 pm at the Shelldale Cresent office in Guelph; and

Jan. 18 from 10am to 12pm at the public health office on Broadway in Orangeville.

“Reports from community partners indicate that the number of flu cases is increasing and that the number of cases confirmed by laboratory tests is up over last year.  Fortunately, the vaccine is a very good match for the predominant flu strain circulating this year,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of WDGPH.

“The flu shot is the best way to protect yourself and those around you from the flu. Everyone should consider getting the shot from their doctor, a participating pharmacy or through public health.
