Province offering $50,000 reward for information on Erin homicide

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information about the murder of Frederick “John” Hatch.

The province of Ontario is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or person responsible for the murder.

Hatch’s body was discovered in the early morning of Dec. 17 in a wooded area off Wellington Road 124 east of 10th line in Erin.

He was last seen at a Dollar Tree Store in the Ottawa area on Dec. 16 at 1:05pm. How he arrived in Erin from Ottawa is unknown but he was known to hitchhike, police say.

Hatch was wearing a denim vest with Mickey Mouse characters on the back, a black leather jacket, a blue and white bandana, glasses and black Harley Davidson boots. He was carrying a red duffel bag.
