Portion of Wells Street to remain closed
It doesn’t look like the portion of Wells Street between Domville Street and County Road 14 will open anytime in the near future.
The issue of the Arthur village road came up at the September works committee meeting.
Works Superintendent Gary Williamson had received a request to open the road allowance to accommodate the Lafarge cement trucks while pouring concrete for a windfarm construction.
After discussing the matter with the township’s insurance company, he was given a written opinion that did not support opening the road because of liability.
As a result, the works committee agreed the road should remain closed.
