Poppy time in Wellington North
Councillors here have once again given the go-ahead for Royal Canadian Legion Branches 134 Mount Forest and 226 Arthur to distribute poppies in their respective jurisdictions.
“Furthermore it is requested that a proclamation be made declaring Nov. 11, 2009 as Remembrance Day.”
Both Legions requested the works department detour traffic while services are being conducted (as in the past).
Mayor Mike Broomhead asked that the information be passed on the board of works. Council granted the requests and directed staff to prepare the bylaws required.
