Police still seeking help to solve December homicide

Police are still asking for help from the public in connection with a homicide in December.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, along with the Criminal Investigation Branch, is looking for information concerning Frederick John Hatch.

He was last seen on Dec. 16 at 1pm in Nepean. A known hitchhiker, Hatch left that area that day, police said. His body was found on Dec. 17 by firefighters responding to a fire call around 7am at a small wooded area off Wellington Road 124 near the 10th Line in Erin. Hatch, 65, is described as a white male, about 5’6” tall, heavier build, grey downward curving moustache and grey shoulder length hair.  He was wearing blue jeans and a dark hoodie with a jean vest with Disney characters pictured on the back. He also carried a red and black duffle bag.
