On June 27 at about 8:35pm Wellington County OPP received a traffic complaint about a man driving an e-bike unsafely on Wellington Road 29 here.

Police, who say the man reportedly “grabbed” a cyclist,  located the e-bike east bound on Highway 7 and attempted to stop it.

“The driver did not stop for police and continued in to Rockwood on Alma Street then to Main Street,” police stated in a press release.

Police followed the e-bike and he turned on to Cobblestone Place then back to Main Street where a citizen attempted to stop the driver. He continued on Main Street towards Wellington Road 27 where he eventually pulled over and stopped.

“During this incident, the driver went through stop signs and onto sidewalks,” police allege.

Police would like to speak with the cyclist and witnesses.  Anyone with information can call PC Steve Hunter at 1-888- 310-1122.
