Police seek clues after $50,000 worth of hamburgers stolen

PUSLINCH – Police are looking for help to identify the person(s) responsible for stealing $50,000 worth of hamburger patties.

On Sept. 5, Wellington County OPP received a report of a load theft from a yard near Brock Road South in Puslinch Township.

Police say that at about 3am, someone entered the yard and stole a 53-foot semi-trailer.

"The trailer was recovered in Mississauga," police stated in a Sept. 8 press release.

"Subsequent investigation revealed the cargo, approximately $50,000 worth of [quarter-pound] beef patties, has been accounted for."

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Tip providers may be eligible for a reward from Crime Stoppers of up to $2,000.
