Police looking for suspect in gas station break-in

ARTHUR – Police are investigating a break-in at a gas station last week and appealing to the public for assistance.

Wellington County OPP officials say police were called about a break-in at the station, on Smith Street in Arthur, at about 2:15am on July 27.

“Police attended the scene within minutes to find the suspect fled prior to their arrival,” police stated in a press release.

A suspect “forcibly entered the business and took an undetermined amount of cigarettes and other merchandise” and “was seen fleeing southbound on Smith Street in a black hatchback sedan,” police added.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing black shorts, a black sweater, black gloves, black mask and black toque with a head lamp on top.
