Police identify man found dead in pickup truck west of Guelph

GUELPH-ERAMOSA - Police have now identified a man found dead in a severely damaged pickup truck here, but they're still not certain when the vehicle crashed into the heavily wooded area.

On Dec. 23 at about 1pm, a passerby called police about a damaged vehicle well off the road in a wooded area near the intersection of the Woolwich-Guelph Townline and Lerch Road, west of Guelph.

Police found a deceased man in the severely damaged Ford pickup truck.

The next day police identified the man as David Frank Douglas Watters, 47, of Kitchener.

The OPP is asking anyone with information or that may have witnessed the collision to call 1-888-310-1122.
