Police beat: Two women charged after vehicles entered, bike stolen

MOUNT FOREST – Two local women have been charged after a resident reported to police that people were going through unlocked vehicles here on the weekend.

On July 10 at about 12:30am, Wellington County OPP responded to a suspicious person complaint on Owen Road in Mount Forest.

Officers “attended and located the parties,” police stated in a press release.

Karley Bianca Saman, 26, of Wellington North, was charged with mischief, trespass by night, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and possession of a Schedule I substance (opioid).

Shayla Dawn Colby, 34, of Wellington North, was charged with mischief and trespass by night.

Both are to appear in Guelph court at a later date.

Later that same day, on July 10 at about 11am, Wellington County OPP responded to an “active bike theft … on Durham Street West, Mount Forest,” police stated.

Colby was charged with theft under $5,000. She is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
