Police beat: Record checks go online
ORILLIA – The OPP has moved record checks online.
“The new process will allow those living in OPP-policed communities to submit requests for police record checks at opp.ca/recordchecks,” police stated in a press release.
Police say the online application process will allow the public to apply “quickly, easily and securely” for:
- criminal record checks;
- criminal record and judicial matters checks;
- vulnerable sector checks; and
- OPP non-parent custody checks.
“Payment will be collected electronically as part of the online application process, with results delivered directly to the applicant through a secure portal link,” police stated.
The fees for record checks remain unchanged at:
- $41 for record checks;
- $90 for fingerprints; and
- free for volunteer checks.
