Puslinch man charged

LISTOWEL – A Puslinch man faces several charges after a theft from a business here last week.

Perth County OPP officials say police were called to a business on Mitchell Road South in Listowel on Jan. 13 just before 1:30pm, after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

“The suspect then fled the store, and tried to get into a moving vehicle,” police stated in a press release.

“The suspect was observed by officers, who were able to make an arrest after a brief foot pursuit.”

John Garrett Winer, 35, of Puslinch Township, has been charged with theft under $5,000 (shoplifting), mischief and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He is to appear in Stratford court at a later date.
