Police Beat: Officer assaulted: OPP

ELORA – On June 11 at about 12:30am, a Wellington County OPP officer on patrol observed a person laying in the middle of East Mill Street here.

“When the officer attempted to remove the person from the roadway, the person assaulted the officer multiple times,” police stated in a press release. 

Kyle Watson, 29, of Elora, was charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, being intoxicated in a public place, and having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place. 

He is to appear in Guelph court on Aug. 4.
