Man charged in break-in

BRANT – On Jan. 25 at about 4:32am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a break-in at a commercial property on Bruce County Road 4 in Brant Township.

Members of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team and an OPP Canine Unit assisted with a search of the area.

Police say a suspect was located and arrested without incident.

Frank Duchon, 45, of Wellington North, was charged with break and enter, possession of break-in instruments and theft over $5,000. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that a Black Audi S4 was stolen. The value of the stolen vehicle is estimated to be more than $40,000. There are no license plates on the vehicle, but the serial number is on file with police.

Threat charges

PERTH COUNTY – A Grand Valley resident was charged after police say a victim was threatened with bodily harm or death.

Perth County OPP started an investigation on Jan. 22 after the victim had received a number of communications in which the suspect threatened harm.

Burim Gajtani, 38, of Grand Valley, was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused is to appear in Stratford court at a later date.

Three of five stolen vehicles recovered

LISTOWEL – Two of five vehicles stolen from a dealership here were recently recovered in Wellington County.

Perth County OPP officials say three of the stolen vehicles have been recovered, and at the time of recovery, they were affixed with stolen license plates from South Bruce.

A 2018 Audi and 2012 Mercedes Benz were recovered in Wellington County, and a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was recovered in the North Bay area.

Police began an investigation on Dec. 31 when two suspects broke into a business on Wallace Avenue North in Listowel at about 2:30am. Police say the suspects stole vehicle keys and left with five vehicles worth a total of over $140,000.

The suspects arrived in a small black compact vehicle.

Stolen vehicles not yet recovered are a grey 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 and a black 2017 Dodge Ram 1500.
