Police beat: Careless driving

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On March 12 at about 10am, Wellington County OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on 2nd Line near Wellington Road 18 here.

Police say a black sedan had entered the ditch.

A 41-year-old driver from Fergus was charged with driving while suspended and careless driving.

The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on June 7.

More carelessness

MINTO – On March 15 at about 2:15am, Wellington County OPP responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 89 here.

Police say a black SUV entered the ditch and the driver “was not at the scene.”

A 26-year-old driver from Shelburne was charged with careless driving, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and failing to report an accident.

The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on June 7.

No permit, insurance

GUELPH – On Feb. 14 ay about 8:15pm, a Wellington County OPP officer stopped the driver of a white sedan on the Hanlon Expressway here.

A 38-year-old driver from Guelph was charged with driving while suspended, driving without a permit and driving without insurance.

The defendant is to appear in Guelph court on May 17.
