Paws for Healing walk on Sept. 23

Charity Walk-A-Thon for Zachary’s Paws for Healing is taking place Sept. 23 at Optimist Recreation Center in Guelph.

Zachary’s Paws for Healing pioneered the concept of having pets visit long-term patients in hospital - a program with therapeutic results, and the first of its kind in Canada.

Participants will complete a 1.3 km walk along a wooded trail. The event runs from 10am to noon and registration is $10. The event will also offer:

- therapy ponies;

- Guelph Police canine demonstrations;

- pet photographer;

- free gift bag for registered participants; and

- water for humans and their canine companions (participants are asked to bring a refillable water).
