Palmerston tractor tour includes Mapleton Machines

PALMERSTON – The Palmerston Agricultural Society will host its second vintage tractor and farm equipment tour on Oct. 2, with a new lineup of farm sites to visit, including four collections in Mapleton Township.

The family farms of Wayne Flewelling, Neil Driscoll, Larry Schill and Jason Heimpel will serve as hosts for the Tri-County Ag Machines and Memories Tour, along with six other host sites close by in Wellington, Perth and Huron counties.

This 50-year-old John Deere 6030 tractor owned by Larry Schill wears its original clothing plus the unique addition of chrome stacks.

The self-guided tour sites will welcome visitors from 9am to 4pm and will showcase family-favourite tractors and equipment dating from the early 1900s, in all the popular colours. The owners will be available to chat with visitors and share stories about their large and often unique collections. This will be the first public showing for some of the equipment on display.

The tour is free and a food truck will be located at the Palmerston Community Centre.
