OPP seeks robbery suspect
FERGUS – Police are looking for help to identify a suspect who robbed a victim at knifepoint here recently.
Wellington County OPP officials say officers responded to a disturbance, on Belsyde Avenue East in Fergus, between Tower Street South and Scotland Street, on Aug. 20 at about 11:30am.
Police say a victim “was approached by an unknown suspect who brandished a knife and demanded money from the victim. The victim complied and the suspect subsequently fled south on Belsyde Avenue towards the intersection of Tower Street and Belsyde Avenue.”
The suspect is described as a white male, aged 17 to 20, wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt and black shoes.
