Lost shotgun found, given to police
MAPLETON – Police issued a public safety warning after someone lost a shotgun here.
The shotgun has since been found.
"The firearm fell from the back of a pickup truck ... somewhere between 4th Line, Mapleton and Waterloo Region," Wellington County OPP officials stated in a May 30 press release.
The gun is described as a green Franchi Affinity 3.5 semi-automatic shotgun with a 26-inch barrel.
Police say the gun, which was not loaded, was lost on May 29.
The OPP issued an update at about 5pm on May 30, stating the firearm had been located and given to police.
