A teenager from Wilmot has been charged after a car unwisely passed a cruiser while travelling at least 65km/h over the speed limit.

On April 23 at about 1:30pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was travelling on Highway 6 near Sideroad 6 East, in Wellington North. Police say the officer observed a sedan, which appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit, pull out from behind him and pass him.

The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at over  145km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Dylan Pfeffer, 19, of Wilmot Township, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on June 6. His driver’s licence and the vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
