Guelph resident sent to hospital after 'barricaded person' call: OPP

ARISS – A Guelph resident was taken to hospital with minor injuries, but so far no one has been charged after a person barricaded themself in a home here for about seven hours.

Wellington County OPP officials say Waterloo and OPP police offers were called to a disturbance on Pilkington Street in Ariss on April 4 at about 9:30pm.

Police say "an individual refused to exit a residence" so an area "was cordoned off due to public safety concerns."

On April 5 at about 4:30am, a 53-year-old resident of Guelph was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The OPP did not disclose what led to the resolution.

"No charges have been laid in this ongoing investigation," police stated.
