One person dead after serious crash in Mapleton Township
MAPLETON – One person is dead following a serious crash here on Monday.
Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the scene, at the intersection of Wellington Roads 11 and 7 northeast of Drayton, on Oct. 23 at about 12pm.
“Initial reports indicated that a loaded semi-truck and trailer had collided with a pickup truck and that both drivers were seriously injured,” police stated in a press release.
Police say the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The OPP did not immediately identify the person who died, nor did they provide an age or hometown.
