With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jim Watson of Campbellville, at 91. Beloved husband of 70 years of Lilla (nee Garrod), proud father of Autumn (Paul Riganelli) and Brant (Marianne DeBrouwer). Doting grandfather of Christie (Steve Page), Elora, Sawyer (Natasha) and Sam (Madison) and great-grandfather of Chase and Evan Page and our newest baby, Lilla Watson. Survived by brother Larry Watson (Bonnie) and sister Anne Smillie (Steve). Predeceased by siblings William, Ron, Joan and Peter. A teacher and then a real estate broker and developer, Jim was always very involved with his community, having been elected to Nassagaweya Council, Halton County Council, Milton Town Council and Halton Regional Council. He also served on the Halton Police Services Board. Jim enjoyed travelling—especially cruises—with his wife. He liked to play Bridge. He enjoyed anything to do with his children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. He liked puttering around his hobby farm. He enjoyed tinkering with the English language: wordplay, riddles, jokes and poems were all his forte. He liked shooting the breeze with anyone he would run into at the Milton Farmers Market, or Steam Era, or anywhere else! He will be missed. Cremation has taken place. Private interment at Bethel pioneer cemetery will take place at a later date.
