TOWNER, Anita

Passed away peacefully as she wished with her family by her side on September 26, 2025 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus in her 80th year. Anita was a pillar of quiet strength and grace. She was content in herself and was truly independent with discerning taste. She carried a calm presence and kept the peace in her family while holding firm to her values. With a witty nature, Anita had perfect timing and loved to laugh. Anita found joy in cooking for her family, serving up more than just food—her meals were a heartfelt expression of love that brought everyone closer and created lasting moments of togetherness. Anita will be sadly missed by her loving daughters Bonnie (Phil), Wendy and Kim. Nana was cherished dearly by her grandchildren Janine (Jordon), Taryn (Colin), Sarah, Brenna (Parker), Kanayo, Josie and Megan (Joseph) and her six great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Tony, Bob (Anne), Lise (John) and Heather. Her presence will be missed by her “little man” Rocky. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by her partner Don Currie. Anita’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff on the 3rd Floor Medical In-Patient SCU for the compassionate care Anita received while at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Anita’s life will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Graham A Giddy Funeral Home Ltd., 280 St. David St. S. Fergus, ON N1M 2L5, (519) 843-3100. Visit https://www.grahamgiddyfh.com for Anita’s online memorial.
