THRING, Roger, in his 77th year of Somerville, Australia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 18, 2016. Beloved Husband of Dallas. Cherished Father of Robbie, Gail, Steven, Kim and Craig. Missed by many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Treasured Brother of Gordon Thring (Wendy), Bette Lee Ramage (Jason). Loved Uncle to George (Carol), Shireen (Dennis), Andy (Kelly), Deborah (Robin), Mike, Great nieces and nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Olga Allan Thring and George Thring. He will be remembered for his kind heart, caring nature and great sense of humor. Roger, never one to refuse an adventure, at the age of 21 struck out for Australia. A lover of nature, hunting and spending time outdoors, he soon fell in love with Australia and chose to have his family and life there. He loved Canada as well, and returned twice to visit his family here. Although he lived a great distance away, he was never far from our thoughts and hearts, and we were never far from his. He was a man with two families, on two continents, but with one heart big enough for both. Quick to make a joke, smile and laugh, and brought light into all our lives and will be missed, but not forgotten. He left his mark on all of us just by being in our lives. The world is a little less bright without him. We love you Roger and are grateful for the time we got to spend with you.Love, Your Canadian Family.
“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love… and then we return home.”
