Obituary

Passed away at Guelph General Hospital on December 27, 2025. Born in West Luther Township on December 8, 1931. George was predeceased by his wife Alma (Sime) in 2009 and friend Lois Neilson (2025), parents Norman and Vera Mae (McMullen), and sisters Betty Peel and Elaine Guard. He will be missed by his sons, Andrew (Lisa) and Owen (Darielle), sister Edith St John and many nieces and nephews. He was the proud grandfather of Brianna, Liam, and Faith.Dad really enjoyed living and raising his family in Fergus. He was a long-time business owner, avid curler, and for years was involved with the Chamber of Commerce and the Highland Games. Many thanks to everyone in this wonderful community who brought happiness into his life. Visitation was held for family and friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus, on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 from 12:00pm – 1:45pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm. Refreshments followed.
