SCHEIBLER, Jeff

December 3, 1964 - February 24, 2025

The family of Jeff Scheibler is heartbroken to announce his passing on Monday, 24 February, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Jeffrey Allen Scheibler was born 3 December, 1964, in Dryden, Ontario to Victor and Janet (nee Davis) Scheibler. At an early age he moved with his family to Oakville, Timmins and eventually settled in Orangeville, where he and his sisters finished their schooling. Upon graduation from Orangeville District Secondary School, he attended the University of Waterloo where he earned a degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 1988, even enjoying a semester abroad at Oxford Polytechnic in England. Jeff flew a desk for the Region of Peel in the planning department for a few years before pursuing his dream to fly planes. He earned his wings at the Brampton Flying Club. After successfully obtaining his commercial pilot’s license he spent a few years instructing and flying charters out of the Toronto Island Airport before joining Air Ontario. In 1997 he joined Air Canada with his first assigned aircraft being the Boeing 767.  In 2006 Jeff completed his line check on the Embraer and obtained his Captain rating. In 2007, Jeff was grounded due to health issues, but was cleared for take-off again in 2009 as Captain on the Embraer. Unfortunately, after 2 years back flying, he was again grounded, and went on indefinite medical leave. With his wit, sense of humour, sarcasm, wisdom, words of guidance, thoughtfulness and so much more, Jeff left an indelible impression on those whom he met. He forged life-long friendships with many of them. He will be greatly missed. Jeff was predeceased by his father, Victor (1989); his grandparents Emil (1982) and Annie (2010) Scheibler and Victor (1977) and Maggie (1975) Davis; Aunts Lynn (nee Davis) Cooper (2010) and Judy Davis (1974); Uncles Bob Kellner (2016) and Harold Ingebrigtsen (2023).
