RALSTON-THOMPSON, Mary Elizabeth

June 5, 1963 - November 8, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Ralston-Thompson, a beloved wife, mother, Nana, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She endured a courageous battle with cancer, fought with strength and grace, that sadly took her at a young age. She leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Pete, and was the devoted mother to her daughters, Tommara (Chris) McMillan and Kelsey (Josh) Ferriss. Her greatest joy was being Nana to her cherished grandchildren: Natalie and Nolan McMillan and Kody and Abigail Ferriss. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Dianne, and her brothers, Tom and Robert. She is predeceased by her father, Bob, and her brother, Scott. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and countless friends. A woman of vibrant energy, deep loyalty, and unwavering love, she embraced life with passion. Her heart held a special place for her dogs, and she was a devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, especially the legend Wendell Clark. She dedicated her time to coaching baseball and ringette for her girls’ teams, instilling a love of sport and teamwork. She treasured her time spent at the trailer, enjoying ATV’ing, fishing, and campfires, and making lasting memories while travelling with Pete. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 11:30am to 1:00pm. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. The inurnment will take place immediately after the service at the Elora Municipal Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home, upstairs in the Wellington Room, for guests to gather for fellowship and refreshments. Elevator access is available. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for memorial donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph, in recognition of the compassionate care provided.
