Obituary

Passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025 at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, ON in his 98th year. Jack was born on February 1, 1928 in Portugal to parents Antonio and Maria Nunes. He is survived by his loving spouse of 72 years Maria de Fatima Nunes (Teixeira). He will be missed by his children Rose (John) Iantorno of Fergus, ON and Tony (Jane) Nunes of Edmonton, AB. Jack was a beloved Avô to eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and their families. He is survived by his elder sister Rosalina and is predeceased by his four other siblings. Friends and family were received on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 10:30am to 11:45am at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St David St S Fergus, ON. A funeral mass was held at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Parish, 760 St David St N, Fergus, ON. Interment followed at St. Mary Immaculate and St. Joseph Cemetery in Elora, ON with a light reception at the church to conclude the services. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to Hospice Wellington and the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Jack’s family.
