McSWIGGAN, Thomas Walter. We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Thomas Walter McSwiggan. Gone to join his wife and life partner of 56 years, the late Sheila Devine McSwiggan (2015). In sorrow, his children, Stephen (Denise), Michael (Diane) and Shona (Keith) take great comfort that he is beside his soulmate in heaven. His compassion and love for life and everyone around him will be greatly missed. Tom arrived in Canada from Glasgow Scotland in 1959 to marry Sheila after his 5 years in the army. Missing their “Granpa” are his eleven grandchildren: Brent, Warren, Justine (Sam), Connor (Rachel), Matthew, Kyle, Jordan, Brandon, Hayden, Carter and Hannah. Survived by his sisters Roberta and Irene in Scotland, he joins many brothers and sisters in heaven. A dearly loved uncle to his large family of nieces and nephews and countless list of friends. Cremation has taken place. Internment at St. Peters Cemetary in London in spring 2016. Sharing with his wife in celebration of their lives together, visitation was held at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Sunday December 13th from 6-9pm with prayers starting at 6pm. A funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 760 St. David Street North, Fergus on Monday December 14th at 11am.
