Born and lived for 24 years on a Jersey dairy farm in Ormstown, QC. Loving husband for 54 years of the late Eleanor Radley Snow and proud and loving father of Andrew (Kim), Douglas and William (Andree). Murray was the proud grandfather of Tyler, Adam and Brandon. Great grandfather of Max and Oliver. He was the brother of the late Shirley Borland, Ross, Jean (John Clulee), Anne and Alton and the son of the late William and Catherine McEwen of Ormstown, QC. He loved family, adventurous travel, sports and agriculture. Murray was a former executive manager in the food industry. He was awarded membership in the Order of Canada “for his contributions to the food industry and for his sustained commitment to supporting his community”. McGill University awarded him a Doctor of Science degree, honoris causa, “for providing leadership in Canada’s agriculture and food industry”. He has several endowed scholarships for students in pursuit of improved water quality studies at McGill University, University of Guelph and the Grand River Conservation Foundation. His passion for life will be missed by his family and his wide community of friends. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel. A celebration of Murray’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11:00am at Harcourt Memorial United Church (87 Dean Ave., Guelph). In lieu of flowers or donations the family requests that those who knew him take a moment to reflect on the importance of living a good and active life.
