MAHNKE, Gillian Marion (née Webb)

April 26, 1942 - October 17, 2025

Gillian (Gill / Gilly / Mom / Nana) passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on October 17, 2025, at Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Fred Mahnke for 61 years, Gillian was a devoted mother, nana, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her children Neil (Kimberley) and Lisa, and lovingly remembered by her treasured granddaughters Ainsley, Addie, and Margo, who brought her endless joy and love. Gillian’s life was defined by her unwavering care for others. She was a steadfast partner to Fred, a nurturing presence to her family, and a passionate neighbour and friend within the Puslinch community. Though small in stature, Gillian carried a big presence—her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her sister Jean Williams, her brother Ken Webb (Maureen), sister-in law, Darquise Lalonde Kimmel, and was predeceased by her father, Frederick Webb, Mother, Gwyneth Webb, Brothers Leslie Webb and William (Bill) Webb. Gillian was a cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many. A lifelong member of Duff’s Presbyterian Church, Gillian found joy in fellowship and service. She sang in the church choir for many years, sharing her love of music and faith with those around her. A celebration of Gillian’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at 11:00am at Duff’s Presbyterian Church, followed by a luncheon in Nanson Hall. All are welcome to attend and share in remembering her remarkable life. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com. A heartfelt and special thank you to our Puslinch family (neighbours) who have always been there for our family in the good and not so good times, as well as Lindsey MacMillan, who in the past year has been such a wonderful help and friend to both Mom and Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Duff’s Presbyterian Church. A tree will be planted in memory of Gillian M. Mahnke in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
