KUMAGAI, Ted

January 27, 1950 - September 29, 2025

Ted Kumagai, 75 years old, passed away peacefully on September 29th, 2025, surrounded by his family. Ted and Faylyn began travelling early in their marriage. Their adventures took them around the world. As a teacher, Ted was a favourite amongst staff and students. He was known for his lively classrooms and love of teaching. Ted had many friends whose company he loved, and he shared tons of laughs and fun with them all. Ted could often be found on the golf course, especially Guelph Lakes Golf Course where he worked for many years. At the center of Ted’s life was his family. He was a devoted husband to Faylyn, and they recently celebrated their 48th year together. He was a great father to Sare and her partner, Yossie and Josh and his wife, Jenni. His wisdom and kindness were valued by everyone. The greatest joys of his life were his grandsons Reed and Cooper, who brightened all his days. Ted will be remembered for his wide smile and ready jokes, for his wonderful food, his outstanding golf game, sense of adventure and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. The family would like to especially thank Dr. David Brault and all the staff at Groves Hospital for their outstanding care, and immense gratitude to the incredible team at Hospice Wellington for their many kindnesses in Ted’s final days. A Celebration of Life for our beloved Ted will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025. All are invited to stop in to visit and share memories from 11:30am to 2:00pm. The gathering will take place in the Aboyne Room at the Wellington County Museum and Archives, located at 0536 Wellington Rd 18, Fergus, ON.
