In loving memory of David Kenny 1946 – 2025 Dave passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on October 24, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda; parents, Alexander and Selena; and his siblings Don, Stewart, Joe, Colleen, Doug, William, and Cathy. He will be deeply missed by his son Christopher (Amanda) and cherished granddaughter Madelin, who was his pride and joy. Dave is also survived by his sisters Joan, Margaret, and Barbara, and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews—especially Carol-Lin and Matthew, with whom he shared a special bond—as well as cousins, extended family. Dave was a true outdoorsman. At a young age he developed a love for hunting, trapping and fishing. Generous with his time and heart, he was deeply involved in his community, volunteering for decades at the Welcome In Drop-In Centre, and Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph. His dedication earned him a pin from the Ontario Government recognizing 40 years of volunteer service. Dave was known for speaking his mind—sometimes getting him into a bit of trouble—and for his quick wit, good-natured teasing, and love for a good laugh. He was a storyteller, a loyal friend to many, and someone people could always count on for support and sound advice. He will be remembered with love, laughter, and gratitude by all who knew him. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 4 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N. Guelph. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 5 at 11:30am, following by a reception in the lounge. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Dave to Hospice Wellington or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
