75, Allan Roy Harding passed away peacefully, February 25, 2025, at the Brucelea Haven Long-Term Care Facility, Walkerton. He was born on August 16, 1949 to the late Roy Harding and the late Dorthy Harding, who Allan adored. He is predeceased by his two loving partners in life, Maxine Davidson and Alice Harding. Al grew up in a boisterous home with five brothers: the late Gordon, Fred, the late Keith, Don and Lloyd Harding. He was an uncle to Trevor, Chad, Adam, Julie and Corie. Al lovingly referred to June Switzer, a lifelong friend that he grew up with, as his “sister”. Al liked nothing more than helping others out. There was nothing that he could not build or fix. Certified as a general carpenter and cabinet maker Allan has left his mark throughout the Wellington County and Grey County areas. Later with Maxine he turned his attention to farming and dedicated himself to caring for and raising cows and pigs. Cats and dogs were an integral part of Allan’s life. A highlight for Al, once he retired, were the dances he regularly attended with Alice and his friends. Allan was an adored honourary grandfather and was proud to be called “Little Al”. Al will be missed and fondly remembered by Rudy and Terresa Diemer and their children Lee and Luke. Also by Stephen and Jane Whale and their children Matthew, Daniel, Kathleen, Curtis and Cameron. As his health declined, Allan along with his friends and family were grateful for the care and companionship provided by Corinne Dentinger and the second and third floor staff at Brucelea Haven Long-Term Care Facility. As per his wishes Allan will have a service followed by a reception at St. Paul’s United Church in Mildmay. It will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11:00am. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be available at www.fawcettfuneralhome.ca. There will be a spring interment at the United Cemetery in Mildmay. Memorial contributions to the CNIB or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated, available at www.gregrobertsfuneralhome.com.
