Passed away in Fergus, Ontario on June 29, 2025, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of John. Devoted mother of Kimberley (Darcy), Dedre (Eric), and TJ (Jody). Loving grandmother of Eli, Hannah, and Eleanor. Sister of Marcel (Carol), sister-in-law of Stan & Barb, Kathy & Frank, Mike & Fran, and Joe & Jane. Daughter of Alfonso and Margaret. Her bright spirit lives on in each of us and can never be forgotten. Alphie was a dynamic, energetic, smart, wonderful, and thoughtful person. Her love for her husband John and her family was constant and she was forever generous with her time. She spent countless hours sharing her talents of knitting, sewing, baking, singing, gardening, playing the piano, and reading. She provided never-ending support of all of her kid’s activities, including skating, hockey, swimming, music, and equestrian riding, even if she was cold from sitting in the hockey arena, or scared from being close to horses. Her kindness touched so many lives within her knitting community, the parish at St. Peter’s church, her countryside neighbourhood, and the vulnerable individuals she supported. She delighted in knitting for others, many of her creations are still worn lovingly by family members, friends, and clients throughout Ontario. She loved being outdoors, finding joy in camping, gardening, bike riding, cross-country skiing, swimming, and berry picking. We would like to thank all the staff at Wellington Terrace for their fantastic care and support. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Church in Oustic on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00am, followed by a reception at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Alphie’s memory to Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home would be gratefully appreciated. Donations may be made online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com And if you’d like to bring some flowers from your garden to her funeral, she would absolutely love that.
