FLYNN, Jane (Jean) Toner

After a brief illness, Jean passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 at the Madoc Heart of Hastings Hospice with family at her side. Almost 70 years ago, at the young age of 20, Jean travelled alone from Scotland to Canada with excitement to explore new adventures. This included meeting her husband Leonard who predeceased her in 1998 and the birth of her only son. She was proud to become a ‘two dollar Canadian’. Jean is survived by her son John and daughter-in-law Laurie, her grandchildren Rachel (Andrew), Ryan and Rory (Samantha), as well as 4 great grandchildren – Archer, Amara, Brinley and Kayden. Jean is also survived by her sister Mrs. Isabel Jones, her nephew Kenny, niece Kyle (Juan) and great nephew Connor. Many thanks to Dr. Blair Cappel and the EWFHT for their support and attention for Jean and her family. The family would also like to thank Waterloo Wellington OH@H palliative care team and in home service providers, Care2Homes, and especially for the outstanding care and compassion from Dr. Janet Webb and the staff and volunteers at the Madoc Heart of Hastings Hospice. Cremation has already taken place. Per Jean’s wishes there is no visitation. Family will celebrate her life privately. If desired, memorial donations to the Madoc Heart of Hastings Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
