On July 10, 2025 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Shawn passed away peacefully at the age of 70. Shawn is lovingly missed by his beloved wife of 46 years, Rose Marie Elviss (Nee Scherer). He was the proud and loving father to Justin (Amanda) and Jeremy (Sherri) and proud grandpa to Hannah and Ben. He is survived by his brothers Ty and David and is predeceased by his parents Theresa and Thomas Elviss. Shawn was a man with a witty sense of humour and a love of community. He worked at Goodrich for 28 years and after his retirement volunteered for many years at The Wellington Terrace where he loved taking residents out for bike rides. Shawn loved music, and was a avid Montreal Canadiens fan. He always kept himself up to date on current political and world events. Shawn had a big heart and loved his family; he will be missed by them immensely. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 11:00am to 11:45am at Graham A Giddy Funeral Home Ltd., 280 St. David St. S. Fergus, ON N1M 2L5, (519) 843-3100. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm with a light reception to follow.
